Seventh Consecutive Year as Part of the Global Outsourcing 100
Posted on February 28th, 2013 No Responses

Intetics is proud to announce its inclusion in The 2013 Global Outsourcing 100® for the seventh consecutive year. This distinctive designation is annually compiled by the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals ® (IAOP) to establish the best outsourcing providers worldwide. The list serves as a significant reference for companies seeking to form international partnerships in efforts to innovate their products and services.

For eight years IAOP has been selecting the top one hundred outsourcing service providers from around the world. The Global Outsourcing 100 and its sub-lists are essential references for companies seeking new and expanded relationships with the best companies in the industry. “As 2013 begins to see moderate growth in the economy, choosing the right outsourcing partners will be more important than ever,” said IAOP Chairman Michael Corbett. “The Global Outsourcing 100 list helps companies easily identify partners that will help them emerge as leaders.”

The application process resembles a usual RFP selection process and is divided into three parts with company information, company profile and evaluation criteria. The information provided allows to rank companies but also to place them into sub-lists according to the best services provided that year as well as industries and regions served. Being selected as part of the final one hundred marks the company as one of the best outsourcing providers worldwide.

The final rankings will be published on May 7th 2013 in a special advertising feature produced by IAOP in FORTUNE magazine. Intetics is excited to be included in this ranking once more, as it awaits this year’s final results.

Belarusian State University Ranked in the Top 6 Worldwide
Posted on January 27th, 2013 No Responses

Belarusian State University (BSU) was ranked in the top 6 programming universities in the world based on the TopCoder Algorithm challenge held in 2012. Intetics is proud of the BSU programming success as many of the programmers employed at Intetics Belarusian development center are graduates of the BSU.

TopCoder is the first and most prestigious competitive programming community, where participants from universities all over the world choose among 11 challenges to compete and test their abilities. The Algorithm challenge, along with Component Design, Component Development, Marathon, and Studio challenges are some of the most popular competitions to enter. The TopCoder ranking system, which was developed in 2001 and is in many ways one of the most sophisticated ratings for programming competitions, is a three-fold assessment, ranking the individual participant ability, the overall success of the educational institution, and finally the country.

Intetics is proud of the BSU achievement because many of its own employees have completed their education there, but also because it shows growing popularity of programming in Belarus. The rapid improvement is evident especially because only five years ago BSU was ranked 17th in the world. But in 2012 the combined success of programmers from all Belarusian universities has earned the Republic of Belarus 6th place as one of the top programming countries in the world.

Hackby’13: A Marathon for IT Enthusiasts
Posted on January 22nd, 2013 No Responses

From January 19th to 20th 2013 second hackathon challenge Hackby’13 took place in Minsk, Belarus. Intetics was a proud sponsor and organizing partner of this event that aims to connect IT specialists across the country. The “24-hour marathon for technology geeks and innovation fans” invited participants all over Belarus to compete against one another, try new technologies and meet industry leaders. The competition tested their ability to create functioning programs under a tough 24 hour deadline using a variety of web, desktop and mobile technologies.

Intetics, along with other partner companies, not only sponsored the event, but its staff also played an important role in facilitating the challenge and mentoring the participants in new technologies. The challenge was facilitated by some of the company’s managing professionals, team leaders and project managers. The involvement of mentors and the expertise and guidance they provided to the participants throughout the challenge was a successful new addition this year. Intetics is pleased that many of its project managers and team leaders took the time to participate in this event, share their technical knowledge and help with the organization of the event.

In addition to sponsoring and organizing the event, Intetics also administered and selected a winner for the PHP or Java Development nomination category. Hackathons are an increasingly popular form of competitions, lasting anywhere from 12 to 72 hours. They allow developers not only to build their latest ideas, but they also create the perfect conditions to concentrate on the most important tasks to end up with a functioning product, which under a less constrained time-frame could take months to complete. Intetics is glad to contribute to a weekend that creates opportunity for technological discovery, innovation and networking, and looks forward to offering its support in the future.

The goal of the conference was to share the latest industry insights and provide information for CIOs to better manage their IT systems. Among the featured speakers was the Intetics president and founder Boris Kontsevoi, who informed the audience about the evolution of sourcing models over the past two decades.

The main purpose of the conference is to bridge the gap between the IT and business worlds. It is a platform that allows peers to share their knowledge of the IT industry, help CIOs achieve business efficiency and improve current IT systems. Sourcing is one of the best ways to improve process and innovate but also achieve cost reductions. Kontsevoi’s presentation explained the need for sourcing and described the best models that manage the risks associated with outsourcing IT. The latest business model that offers least amount of risk is Remote In-sourcing, which offers all the benefits of in-sourcing but using a third party provider. Safe Harbor Certification
Posted on January 8th, 2013 No Responses

On December 20 2012 Intetics achieved the Safe Harbor Certification Mark created by the US Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration to identify US companies that adhere to EU privacy protection standards. The Safe Harbor Certification is a self-certification process that each company undertakes individually and is reviewed annually. It distinguishes companies that have met the US-EU Safe Harbor Framework guidelines. Compliance with the Framework allows for a more efficient and problem-free data transfer from the EU to overseas destinations. The ultimate goal of the Safe Harbor Framework is to ensure privacy protection of US and EU citizens, while also making business transactions more efficient.

The Safe Harbor Framework was created in response to the EU implementation of stringent adequacy standards for privacy protection and personal data transfer to non-EU countries. To allow US businesses to prosper in trans-Atlantic transactions and to avoid experiencing interruptions or prosecutions, the US Department of Commerce negotiated the “Safe Harbor Framework” with the European Commission. The Framework is part of the European commission’s Directive on Data protection which ensures that data acquired by certified companies will not be sent to non-EU countries that do not meet the adequacy criteria. For Intetics, acquiring the Certification is a confirmation of the commitment to protect privacy and ensure data security in the international market.
