Intetics Co., a leading global sourcing company, today announced the success of the first annual Belarus PHP Development (phpDev), conference it hosted on January 21, 2012 at the Hotel Victoria in Minsk, Belarus. Organized by Intetics, with the support of several industry associations, phpDev is fast becoming a major platform for PHP developers, technical leads and architects to exchange ideas, best practices and share experiences while increasing accessibility to PHP-related information. PHP is quickly establishing itself as the preferred development platform of for many Open Source enterprise systems and products.

The daylong phpDev event attracted over one hundred participants, filling the Hotel Victoria conference room to capacity with speakers, lively discussions, questions and useful information. Requests to participate exceeded capacity by over two hundred percent. Intetics provided the conference with monetary support, strategic guidance, administrative assistance and technical expertise.

Due to the overwhelmingly positive response to the conference, the primary organizers from Intetics, Artiom Visotskiy and Alexey Klimko, are actively planning to make phpDev into an annual event. “We are ecstatic to enjoy such incredible interest in our conference and the topic of PHP development in general,” said Visotskiy, Senior Software Engineer, and founder of the new online LAMP-technology community at http://phpdev.by/. “In the future, we would like to increase the number of attendees in order to exponentially benefit from an expanded pool of expertise and new ideas about PHP development.”

Most of the speakers at the conference were from Intetics. They covered topics such as project management in PHP initiatives, the new features of PHP 5.4, SPL introduction, using Git to keep a project on track, introduction to PHP-architect, and various uses of the Zend Framework and Sphinx. All of the speakers engaged the audience in thought provoking ways, not only through the information conveyed, but via humor and openness. Intetics looks forward to supporting future PHP Development conferences in Belarus and the Ukraine, as well as the growing PHP community.

“Intetics actively supports the PHP community and the development of PHP because it has grown so dramatically to become a platform of choice for many of the Open Source enterprise systems being deployed today,” said Boris Kontsevoi, President of Intetics. “The phpDev conference is to be applauded for creating a collegial but professional atmosphere that also successfully maintains a high level of technical discussion.”

Intetics was again a major participant in the Discover IT Belarus event held recently in Munich, Germany. This important industry networking and familiarization forum took place on November 24 and was organized cooperatively by the Bavarian Cluster of Information and Communication Technology and the Belarusian High Tech Park, a government program to promote the IT industry in Belarus.

As with previous Discover IT Belarus events, the primary goal was to familiarize German business leaders with the dynamic IT industry in Belarus. It also provided a forum in which they could learn more about the opportunities available to efficiently outsource software development to highly skilled specialists in Belarus.
The event afforded Intetics’ representatives an excellent opportunity to meet with decision makers from key German companies, especially those in Bavaria, present the company’s capabilities, and discuss ways in which Intetics could help them better achieve their business objectives. Intetics already has several excellent clients in Germany and related countries, which helped make this event even more productive.

Intetics is extremely pleased to participate in the Discover IT Belarus series of events in Europe, not only for the direct opportunity it provides to market the company, but to help familiarize European business communities with the outstanding quality of software development and other IT services in Belarus. Intetics is committed to helping create more opportunities for Belarusian IT specialists and, in turn, improve the country’s economy for everyone.

Many admit to the haze surrounding cloud computing. This white paper separates fact from fiction, reality from myth, and, in doing so, will aide IT executives as they make decisions around cloud computing.

While dispelling cloud computing myths, we will answer tough questions: How hard is it to adopt a private or hybrid cloud? How difficult is it to maintain and secure a cloud? How will the cloud transform my business? Do I have the right skill sets in place? What are some of my cost considerations?

Intetics, a leading global sourcing company, today announced its inclusion in Software Magazine’s Software 500 ranking of the world’s largest software and service providers, now in its 29th year. The annual Software 500 is a revenue-based ranking of the world’s largest software and services suppliers targeting medium-to large-enterprises, their IT professionals, software developers, and business managers involved in software and services purchasing.

Intetics was ranked 465 with software revenue of $7.6 million. The ranking is based on total worldwide software and services revenue for 2010. This includes revenue from software licenses, maintenance and support, training, and software-related services and consulting. Suppliers are not ranked on their total corporate revenue, since many have other lines of business, such as hardware.

“This prestigious recognition underscores the fact that our focus on quality, efficiency and depth of expertise in developing teams for customers continues to pay off in repeat and new business,” said Boris Kontsevoi, President of Intetics. “Achieving such growth would not be possible without highly dedicated employees who deliver excellent customer service.”

The 2011 Software 500 results show that revenue growth in the software and services industry was healthy, with total Software 500 revenue of $541.5 billion worldwide for 2010, representing approximately 10 percent growth from the previous year’s list,” says John P. Desmond, editor of Software Magazine and Softwaremag.com.

“The Software 500 helps CIOs, senior IT managers, and IT staff research and create the short list of business partners,” Desmond says. “It is a quick reference of vendor viability. And the online version, to be posted soon at www.softwaremag.com, is searchable by category, making it what we call the online catalog to enterprise software.”

IT Sourcing Europe summarizes some Europe related findings of the IDG Connect survey of the 3169 IT professionals from 105 countries.

IDG Connect, a global IT and business research company, has recently surveyed 3169 IT professionals from 105 countries in order to benchmark their opinions on today’s global IT skills landscape.

According to the survey findings, 50% of the survey respondents believe that Europe currently has a medium volume of IT vacancies and almost 70% think that senior technical skills are the most demanded ones in Europe in 2011.

Regarding the employment problems in Europe, slightly more than 70% of respondents blame the economy, more than 40% of participants blame the poor IT training, almost 35% – lack of interest in IT careers, more than 30% – brain drain, around 40% – rapid market expansion that does not allow IT skills to keep up and 50% of survey participants believe that IT employment problems occur due to the entry level workers (Generation Y) that have a different work ethic compared to older employees.

Regarding some country-specific findings, the following trends are observed:

Germany is facing a shortage in supply of the senior IT skills

Norway is facing an explosively expanding market which makes it difficult for IT headhunters to keep up

Belgium is facing centralization of resources and missing a strong decision-making power

Cyprus is missing an understanding of how to combine IT and business processes in the real world

More global findings are available in the “IDG Connect Special Report: The Global IT Skills Landscape, Summer 2011”.
